Juvenile

The 34th District Court offers a diversion Juvenile Program. Juveniles who have no prior juvenile court record and who have committed a minor violation of the law may be eligible for the program. The juvenile must be willing to admit responsibility for the charge. An interview is conducted with the parent/guardian and child, following the interview an appropriate resolution will be discussed. Resolutions typically include supervision, no new charges, community service, counseling, random drug screens, and maintained grades/attendance. If the Juvenile offender successfully completes the requirements, the case is not formally charged and the juvenile will not have a juvenile record for the offense. The juvenile probation department can offer resources to parents looking for help or guidance.
